200 Years of the Harmonica in Trossingen – 1827–2027

Since 1827, the history of the harmonica has been closely linked with Trossingen. What began as a craft developed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries into an internationally oriented harmonica industry that shaped the town’s economy, urban landscape and everyday life for generations.

The new catalogue “200 Years of the Harmonica in Trossingen” traces this development through historical sources, photographs and instruments from the collections of the Deutsches Harmonikamuseum. It focuses on manufacturers, technical developments, production, international distribution and the people connected with this history.

The catalogue is published throughout in both German and English, making it accessible to an international audience of collectors, musicians, museums and harmonica enthusiasts.

Pre-orders are available now. The catalogue is expected to be available from the end of October 2026.
